A creative and interactive Western Armenian
language immersion program
Given the current international sanitary crisis, Zarmanazan 2020 will move from the Alps to an online platform.
Zarmanazan 2020 will become Zartsants 2.0!
Here is the video shared with this year’s registered participants, as well as the English translation of the lyrics.
From 50 countries, from all around the world
This summer we will gather together
One from Athens, another from Boston
We’ve been preparing this for a year!
“I’m coming back!” “I want to go too!”
“Let’s see what this is,” you all sang.
For the first, second, or third time
You’ve registered to Zarmanazan.
“Shu-chane(s), Ani, Meliné, Nany,
Write my name down, I’m coming, get ready!”
Meanwhile, far away and secretly
A tiny thing entered the human’s body…
This tiny thing spread around
Went from a body to another one
It became a big, big headache.
It became… 2020’s lion!
This little thing, shaped like a crown,
Is a new virus, small and round
That is telling us “Dear people,
The time has come to stay home.”
“Don’t meet up, do not leave home,
School and work must be done from your room,
If we want to solve this problem one day,
Well, dear ones, this is the only way.”
Restaurants, theaters and swimming pools,
“Close them all!” They said, but… Oh my…
What about Zarmanazan?!
What will happen in July?
It will happen… But, how can I say…
It will happen in a different way.
And now you are thinking impatiently:
“How will it happen, won’t you please tell me?”
It will happen, we will meet!
But this year, from elsewhere.
We have a new proposition for you,
An idea to share!
To join together in the mountains
Will be quite impossible.
Sitting and coughing for a month,
Would be quite unbearable!
This is why, our dear friends,
We have thought of something new
Since we will not go to the mountains
We’ll make the mountains come to you!
There would be no Zarmanazan without
Playing and enjoying one another.
This is why, it is ONLINE (“Artsants”)
We’ll learn to have fun together!
Let’s watch the stars, sing and dance,
Build a house, sew our pants,
Zarmanatsayn (Zarmanazan’s radio), mafia and theater
Cook and bake, play Zarminton even better!
You’ve understood, that this year
We will gather, but separately so,
Participants from the whole world,
Welcome to ZARTSANTS 2.0!
